Butter Chicken

Butter chicken is One of everyone’s favourite Indian dishes is One of everyone’s favorite Indian dishes! It is so creamy and rich in flavour. Follow my simple recipe to make this mouth watering dish.

Description

Butter Chicken is a dish that originates from New Delhi, India. It is a butter and tomato based chicken curry enriched with flavor.

Ingredients

    Chicken Marinade

  • Sauce

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with minced garlic, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, curry powder and salt for 20 minutes
  2. Heat 2 tbsp of butter and pan fry the chicken in 2 batches for 10 minutes on medium heat 
  3. Keep cooked chicken aside 
  4. Add 1 tbsp of butter in the same pan and add in your onions, tomatoes, cashews and minced garlic
  5. Sauté for 3 minutes on medium – low heat
  6. Pour in ⅓ cup of water and stir for 5 minutes 
  7. Remove contents from stove, pour into a blender and blend until its a smooth consistency 
  8. Once blended pour it back in the pan on low heat with an additional ⅓ – ½ cup of water 
  9. After the sauce starts bubbling add in the cooked chicken 
  10. Add in ½ cup of heavy cream, ½ tsp red chilli powder or curry powder, ½ tsp garam masala and simmer for 7 minutes 
  11. Garnish with 1 tsp of kasuri methi and serve 🙂

Notes

  • Feel free to add more heavy cream and water if you want more sauce
