Here’s the perfect appetizer for your next event! These tuna fish cutlets are an authentic Tamil dish adored by many.

- Boil 2-3 potatoes, once it’s soft, mash it and set aside
- Add oil to a pan on medium- low heat
- Add onions, green chilies, and fennel seeds, sauté for 3 minutes
- Add tuna and stir for 2-3 minutes
- Add salt and black pepper and stir fry for 5 minutes
- Add the mashed potatoes, curry powder (optional) and mix until everything is well combined
- Squeeze lime on top then set aside to cool down
- Take 2 tbsp of the mixture and make small patties. Press them down to make sure it’s firm
- Dip the patties into egg wash and then coat in breadcrumbs
- You can fry these right away or store in the freezer for up to 1 month (thaw to room temperature before frying)
- Once oil is hot, deep fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown
