Here’s the perfect appetizer for your next event! These tuna fish cutlets are an authentic Tamil dish adored by many.

Instructions

  1. Boil 2-3 potatoes, once it’s soft, mash it and set aside
  2. Add oil to a pan on medium- low heat
  3. Add onions, green chilies, and fennel seeds, sauté for 3 minutes
  4. Add tuna and stir for 2-3 minutes
  5.  Add salt and black pepper and stir fry for 5 minutes
  6. Add the mashed potatoes, curry powder (optional) and mix until everything is well combined
  7. Squeeze lime on top then set aside to cool down
  8. Take 2 tbsp of the mixture and make small patties. Press them down to make sure it’s firm
  9. Dip the patties into egg wash and then coat in breadcrumbs
  10. You can fry these right away or store in the freezer for up to 1 month (thaw to room temperature before frying)
  11. Once oil is hot, deep fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown
